The N.O.O.W. receives funds from the State of California Unemployment Insurance Program that are donated bi-weekly to the residency program by one of the members of The New Other Other World. It is through this misappropriation of government support/funding that keeps afloat this fledgling residency program. And it is here at the conception of The New Other Other World and ingrained in its future, we ask the question. Do we endorse the “naturalization” of capitalism, or does our contemporary global situation contain antagonisms, which are sufficiently strong to prevent its indefinite reproduction?
N.O.O.W. provides its residents with an opportunity to take a vacation, inquiry into the nature of history, go on field trips, rearrange, reduce, efface the continuity of events, and take a trip to the beach. N.O.O.W. seeks to make available a resource to the local community in the form of live in work spaces, a performance venue, video screenings, a residency that supports individuals who are interested in the advancement and regression of ideas. Our Primary goals are.
1. To host individuals that are willing to take on the trials and tribulations of the over informed world, where the dispersed events, decisions, accidents, and discoveries can no longer be ordered to reveal the continuity of events.
2. To provide an alternative to Artist In Residence programs.
3. To allow individuals and groups to frame socio cultural contribution within any context they choose.
4. To begin projects of unparalleled factual error.
